A bright, sunshiney day

Last night Joe and I went over to his friend Rosie’s for a potluck party. Jack slept most of the time, but woke up just long enough to discover Rosie’s collage wall. He was absolutely ENTRANCED – he stared at it for almost 20 minutes and even smiled at it. It was hilarious. I guess I should make him a collage to look at.

We had a rough night last night. At least I did. Jack woke up every hour on the hour to nurse. Then he wanted up and out of bed at 8 this morning. I stuck him in the swing and napped on the couch. I felt better after that, but still not great. I think I’m coming down with a cold or something, too. I have a sore throat in addition to feeling run down. Ugh.

I thought that the day would be crap since sleep was so unattainable last night, but it’s actually turned out to be pretty good. Jann & Jack came to visit and we went out to lunch at Mazzotti’s and walked around the farmer’s market (me toting the little mister in the Snugli – he slept the whole time!). I got some yellow cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, and plums. Lots of healthy stuff to snack on. I saw a few hospital employees there, as well (can’t go out in this town without seeing something ya know), and got to show off my little boy. It was cool.

Speaking of food, I have to figure something out for the rest of these two weeks while I’m not working. I’m pretty bad at feeding myself – I am lazy and hate to cook and I don’t like eating the same thing every day. So I am having issues with lunch. It’s hard enough to find the time to prepare lunch; figuring out what to eat is terrible.

Nothing else on the agenda for today. I am looking forward to Joe being off work tomorrow and Monday. And our 7 year wedding anniversary is Monday! We haven’t decided how we will celebrate. It won’t be anything fancy since we have the boy, but we’d like to do something to mark this milestone. Having Jack there will make it even more complete, I think. 🙂 Gosh, we’ve been together a long time!

Alright, I’m off to do some grocery shopping. Fun stuff.
