Hearts and love and all that

I’m not into Valentine’s Day.  Well, except for the candy.  I do love chocolate!  I would not be offended by gifts and such but in reality, I don’t need more shit in my house.  There isn’t enough space to put the stuff I already have!

One thing I do love, though, is helping Jack celebrate holidays.  The advent calendar in December was a lot of fun and prior to that I made goody bags for all of his friends at daycare.  For Valentines Day I got some robot Valentine boxes on sale from Stampin’ Up! and Jack wrote his name on 14 of them for all the kids in his daycare and the daycare next door.  I bought Scooby-Doo fruit snacks on sale to put in the boxes.  All the kids LOVED them and Jack had fun handing them all out, as well.  So cute!

David asked me what I wanted to do for Valentine’s Day and I said “nothing.”  He was a bit surprised, I think.  But I pointed out that we have a mini vacation planned for this coming President’s Day weekend.  We are going to Napa for two days to stay in a hotel, dine at fantastic restaurants, go wine tasting, and get in-room massages.  We planned this without even thinking about Valentine’s Day because we need the getaway so badly!  It’s just a happy circumstance that we can put that lovey dovey label on it.  😉

So tonight we’ll likely eat some easily tossed together dinner and watch television or a movie while cuddling on the couch with our pup.  Relaxation is the best gift of all!  Happy Valentine’s Day!
