He loves his own name

I can’t remember where but recently I read something saying that kids love to hear their own names.  Maybe it was a joke, but it is definitely true in this house.  We have a couple of books with Jack’s name in them and he is endlessly fascinated.  The first is from The Incredibles called “Jack-Jack Attack.”  He’s only known about The Incredibles since Christmas ’09 but it has never stopped him from loving the book.

The second book is “Jack’s Rabbit.”  I’m not sure where I stumbled upon this one, but I suspect it was either Powell’s in Portland or Green Apple here in San Francisco.  As soon as I saw it I had to get it for the little dude.  The story is simple and the illustrations aren’t great, but of course Jack totally loves it.

Reading these during our bedtime routine lately has me wondering if other parents out there find books with their kids’ names in them.  Do you have anything in your household like this?  Do you know of any other books that have the name Jack in them that I can check out? (Note: I know that seems like an easy thing but it’s not. I have looked at many “Jack and the Beanstalk” versions and they usually call Jack lazy or stupid or worthless…not a message I want to send to my kiddo!)
